Comments: Hey Larry,
You probably don't know me, but Michael Lewis was one of my very best friends. Denise sent me your link and I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate it.
I have known Michael since around 1971 when we lived in Carbon Canyon, CA. During that time, as you know, he was in a band called Seagull. Michael had been helping me record my newest CD, with another very good mutual friend, Glen Macready, who lives in Portland, Or. and has a recording studio there. All I can say is what an amazing musician and friend. Almost two years ago, we made a trip up to Glens to work on my project. Michael was doing it all out of the love in his heart. He added so much to my songs. He played drums, bass, guitar, vocals, piano and even added some string effects. His daughter added some cello. He did part of it, at his studio in Scottsdale. I still can't believe he is gone. He never did get to hear the final mix of what we were working on, and I wish he could have been here to help mix it. He had an incredible ear and new just what to do in the studio to get the right sound. God I miss him. The project we were working on is almost completed and should be out soon. I hope you get to hear it. If you do, you will hear Michael all though out it in all aspects. It is going to be called "Song's From The Blind Trail. I will make sure Denise gets some copies, so maybe she get one to you. If you were a friend of Michaels, please consider me one of yours. All my best to you.
Peace, Greg
P.S. I am attaching some links to a show my band did at the Rim of The World Performing Arts Center on Nov. 1, 2009. The last link is a song that Michael helped me write. He wrote the second verse. I kinda goofed it up at the concert. It is kind of emotional for me when I sing it, knowing he wrote it, so I hesitated coming in where I should have. I hope you enjoy it anyway.
